Entertainment is a cornerstone of Cam FM, bringing the student population of Cambridge and Anglia Ruskin some much needed fun and distraction in the depths of term.
Cam FM entertainment alumni have gone on to great things. Last year, presenter Phin Adams won bronze at the Radio Academy Awards for Best Speech Personality, up against industry giants like Danny Baker and Johnny Vaughan.
On a slightly smaller scale, our schedule is full to bursting with entertainment shows during the year, ranging from our daily breakfast shows, through some current affairs satire, to Cam FM’s very own student Chart Show.
Most of our new members try their hand at entertainment shows first, with the well-loved and well established weekday Breakfast and Lunchbreak shows making the jump from trainee to on-air that bit less scary. However, if you’ve got a great idea from the start, our Programme Controller will find a place for you!
Cam FM graduating member Ella Watts, presenter of Biscuit, a brunch-time show, said “one of my favourite things about presenting on Cam FM was getting messages from people that were neither my family nor close friends. It's a ‘pinch me’ moment where you get a bit giddy and think ‘hey, someone out there thinks I know what I'm doing and I'm doing it well!’ Getting to chat on live radio for an hour or two about things you love is fun. Getting to do that and listen to your favourite music at the same time is awesome. And getting to do that from wherever you want, whether that's an armoury or Twickenham stadium, with whoever you want? It's an opportunity not worth missing.”
Now it’s your turn to Be Entertainment on Cam FM. Get trained, get tuned in, get presenting!
