Cam FM Presents: The Return!

Ella Watts

Cam FM Presents returns to the Vaults this term with an awesome set of live acts!

The event, which showcases new music and is held in the popular Cambridge Vaults (2-4-1 cocktails, anyone?) has been highly successful in the past, and will continue to showcase local bands monthly during the coming academic year.

The first Cam FM Presents of term is tomorrow, on Thursday the 9th October at 9pm. The Vaults are to be found (for both Freshers and the geographically challenged) underground, between King’s College and Trinity, near Heffer’s bookshop.

You can find more details on our Facebook Event Page, here:

Below are brief biographies of the acts that will be performing tomorrow, written by Cam FM’s Head of Music, Matthew Kent. These will be Lorelai, of May Ball fame, Dirty Blonde and All We Earthlings.

About The Acts:

All We Earthlings are a four-piece alternative rock band that formed here in Cambridge towards the end of 2013. Their music has all the right loud and quiet bits with huge melodies and intricate structures. Known for their energetic, intense and passionate live shows we are sure to be in for a treat at this Cam FM Presents event. Head over to their Soundcloud page to listen to their double A-side single ‘In The Red’/’Dollhouse’ and some live recordings.

Dirty Blonde are a six-piece blues/funk/rock band who have been rehearsing together since February 2013. Fronted by Ester and George Longworth it’s always nice to hear male and female vocals together on one track. Their Facebook description says that they’ll be ‘gigging around London and Cambridge for the foreseeable future’ and with their living genre spanning music it’s no doubt these gigs will be well received. Check out some of their great original tracks on their Soundcloud page.

Lorelai return to the Cam FM Presents stage following their amazing set at our last event in June. A six piece jazz/soul/pop ensemble they’ve spent the summer working on their debut EP including song writing in Edinburgh. This Cambridge group also had a jam packed May Week performing more or less every night. Their Soundcloud has some amazing professionally recorded covers which you can get your teeth into before the release of original material.
